A short break

The office is closed for the year.
So in between trips to see rellie's and eat and drink too much it will be time to get on the bike and churn out some km's.
Hopefully both the MTB and roadie will see some action in the mountains around Brisbane.

Merry Christmas to all and ride safe.

Followed up with a swim and some great food courtesy of G.

A great end to the week.

The heat is on

Break out the ice vest.
The weather is heating up.
2 mornings in a row on the weekend where the temps were in the high 20's before I even got on the bike at 6am.
What to do??
Suck it up I guess!!

4.30am

Amazing how quickly you get used to being up by then.
Lately I beat my alarm by 5 minutes or so regularly.
Best to make use of the cooler temps and early morning daylight hours as I know that sooner than I will want, winter will be back and it will be back to riding in the dark and cold.

Hills today.
Decided to try out the Mailman's Track over on my side of town rather than heading into Mt. Coot-tha.
My tiny little brain convinced me that the Mailman's Track was just down the road, so off I went on the bike for the toodle over to it for some repeats. Well, my tiny little brain was also a tiny little bit wrong. It was a good few km's away and up and down a few decent hills along the way. Once there though the climb was perfect. Exactly 6 minutes on the steeper section which married up nicely with the length needed on the training plan.
Knocked out 3 repeats but was then out of time given that I had another 30 minutes or so to get home.
Luckily there was also some decent hills on the way home.
So I called them 4. :D
