Crit racing has taken a hold.
Short, sharp, fast and a whole lot of AWESOME!!!
And unlike the QLD endurance MTB scene it is on almost every week.
My new club (University) also has its own club races which is a great place to cut your teeth.
They have their own training sessions and there are a few there who are happy to give you some instruction and tips mid race.
And it is a HUGE learning curve.
In endurance events you have plenty of time to make a decision whetehr to go around or stay where you are.
There is no chasing wheels in my endurance world. It is just gritting your teeth and pedalling.
Just one more lap, followed by another.
The internal war against my brain and body.
Crits are about snap decisions.
Do I lead out?
Do I follow?
Do I sit where I am?
Is the right person on my wheel, or am I dragging someone up who will then attack my team mate?
So many questions and decisions to make
I dont have an awesome pic to post so I will put up a clip from Jaman instead. That is me with my jersey all tucked up.

It was so awesome racing Sat....with such an MTB posse in the flanks! I get a kick out of 'counting the MTBers'...... it keeps my Single Track MInd amused during crit-down.
Wait until the crit stuff takes a hold on yr MTB stuff....you'll be flying dirt balls of fire!!!!!
